Student Health
We take student health seriously.
We are blessed to have Lisa Crabb as our middle/high school nurse and Addie Wall (CPN) serving our elementary students.
Lisa has worked as a critical care nurse in the Intensive Care and Coronary Care Unit at Iowa Methodist Medical Center for 29 years. She is ACLS certified (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) as she has been a certified CPR/First Aid trainer/teacher for 17 years. She teaches in the hospital setting as well as trains our staff and high school students at GVCS. 2022/2023 will be Lisa’s 18th year at Grand View Christian School.
Health and safety at school:
Your child’s health and safety are very important to us! When your child is showing signs of possible illness, the decision regarding school attendance can sometimes be difficult. In order to maintain a healthful, safe environment for all students and staff, we have established the following guidelines.
Please keep your child at home if they have any of the following conditions:
oral temperature of 100 degrees or more (no fever for 24 hours without fever reducing medicine)
vomiting and diarrhea within the past 24 hours
earache lasting more than a day
persistent cough, croup, or chest congestion
reddened, mattering, or crusty eyes
any unexplained skin rash
