Parent Teacher Fellowship

Our Purpose: 

  • Facilitate communication between parents and teachers

  • Connect families at GVCS, including welcoming new families

  • Provide opportunities for parents to share their talents to support GVCS’s mission

  • Strengthen GVCS’s impact of glorifying God in our community

Homeroom Parent(s)

The homeroom parent helps the teacher throughout the year with different tasks. Some of those tasks involve helping the teacher in planning school parties, communicating with parents from that specific class and any other things the teacher may ask. There are typically two homeroom parents per classroom.

Grandparents Day

Grandparents day is a time where Kindergarten students get to invite their grandparents (or someone special to them) to join them at school for a few hours. They get to see all the fun things the students are doing in the classroom and attend chapel with their grandchildren.

Thunder Power Reading Hour

A night of fun with a dad or a grandparent! You pick different books you want to listen to that are read by people from the community! Each room is decorated according to the book and even the reader is dressed in character.

Sip n Serve

Offered every Friday morning after drop off. Come and go as you please. Join other moms, dads, and grandparents in serving the Grand View teachers and staff. Laminating, cutting, copying, stapling, and pasting are a few examples of the projects. Great opportunity to meet other families and to be a blessing to our teachers!

Book Fair

Offered two times a year. Volunteers are needed for setting up, tearing down, and working the register. Great opportunity to meet other families that are working alongside you, as well as those coming through the book fair.

Dine to Donates

Dine to Donates are dinners that are sponsored by different restaurants throughout the year and a portion of the sales are given back to our school.

School Supply Packs

These are pre-ordered school supplies that are available to order at the end of each school year for the next year. They arrive shrink wrapped and ready for your student by orientation. We need help with sorting and delivering them to classrooms.

Birthday Gifts

The PTF assembles small gifts for the teachers and staff for their birthday. We would love help assembling and delivering them.

Appreciation Days

There are many different Appreciation Days throughout the year where we celebrate all the people that make GVCS a great school.

Conference Meals

We organize meals for the teachers and office staff to have during their long days for conferences in October and March.

Our Team:  

Jen Mott is one of our Elementary Liaisons. Jen and her husband, Loren, have been a part of GVCS for eleven years and have three children. Jen oversees Grandparents Day, Thunder Power Reading Hour, and Dine to Donate. 

Nikki Vogel is one of our JH/HS Liaisons. Nikki and her husband, Doug, have been a part of GVCS for seven years and have four children.

Stephanie Anderson is one of our JH/HS Liaisons. Steph and her husband, Josh, have been a part of GVCS for seven years and have two children. 

Betty Baker is one of our JH/HS Liaisons. Betty and her husband, Erich, have been a part of GVCS for two years and have two children.

Jennifer Vogt is one of our Elementary Liaisons. Jennifer and her husband, Colin, have been part of GVCS for three years and have four children. Jennifer oversees teacher and staff birthday gifts and the Book Fair.

Nicole Burkhart is one of our Elementary Liaisons. Nicole and her husband, Jacob, have been part of GVCS for twelve years and have four children. Nicole oversees Homeroom Parents, Sip & Serve, and Dine to Donate.

Stephanie, Betty, and Nikki oversee Teacher Appreciation Week, Conference Meals, School Supply Packs, 8th Grade Banquet, New Family Ice Cream Social and other JH/HS activities.
