Brien has a passion for joining parents in pointing kids to Jesus.  In 1998 he earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Faith Baptist Bible College in Ankeny. It was there where he met Dawn, and they were married in her hometown of Oskaloosa later that year.  Brien taught at Community Christian School for nine years in Northglenn, CO, where he and Dawn served faithfully at their local church in the junior high ministry. They also spent those summers leading groups at Lake Ann Camp in northern Michigan. In 2007, God led him and his family to Michigan, where he was ordained and served as the children’s pastor at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Roseville. In 2015, the Lord led them back to Iowa, where Brien is currently serving as the children’s pastor at Grace Church in Des Moines. Brien and Dawn have five children: Victoria, Braeden, Ethen, Caroline, and Annalise, who all attend Grand View Christian School. Brien’s primary roles at Grace involve partnering with parents, training leaders, and teaching children.
